Our story
How we met
“Neither of us went to that party expecting to meet the person we’d spend the rest of our lives with — but apparently something had other plans.”
It all started at a party at Jordan’s house. We fell for each other pretty much instantly, and that was that.
Our first date was a trip to the cinema to see Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 — a pretty solid first date, considering we’re still here all these years later.
Since that night we’ve been through so much together. There have been plenty of highs, a fair few deep lows, and probably enough arguments about DIY, paint colours and where things should go to fill several lifetimes. But through it all we’ve loved each other deeply, and always found our way back to each other.
Over the years our little family has grown from two people and two small girls into five of us — Maggie, Clodagh and Phoebe — plus our very spoilt miniature poodle, Cassie, who obviously runs the household.
And then there are the girls. They are the heart of all of this — funny, kind, wildly different from one another, and completely themselves. They have grown up alongside us, and there isn’t a good thing about our home that doesn’t have their fingerprints on it somewhere. Being the five of us is our favourite thing in the world, and having them with us on the day is the part we’re looking forward to most.
We love nothing more than doing life together: turning our ideas into reality and creating a beautiful home for our family. We’re happiest when we’re making something, improving something, or starting a project that is definitely going to be finished by Sunday. Usually.
What started with a party, an instant spark and a cinema date has turned into a whole life together. We’ve built a family, a home, survived countless projects, laughed an awful lot, and somehow managed to make it all the way to our wedding day.
And honestly, we wouldn’t have it any other way.
